Where has this year gone?

October already & sadly I haven't 'blogged' since July. In that time we had a wonderful 22 days in Oz visiting our family & receiving the AWESOME news that our 6th grandbaby is due to arrive late March. The excited parents-to-be are Blair & Lisa so what a fabulous 1st wedding anniversary for them to look forward to. Can't wait to visit & meet this new little blessing in 2008.
Our trip saw us going to Brisbane first, visiting Seaworld, which we hadn't done for 10 years, & having lots of fun times with our 3 grandaughters. Gianna turned 3 when we were there so that was THE highlight of our first week!
Week 2 we headed to Hobart & the highlight was watching our grandsons play soccer. They are such 'naturals'. Manny scored a goal then ran down the field with his hand in the air...just like the professionals...too cute!!
The final week we spent in Melbourne. All our other trips to this great city we stayed IN the city, apart from once going to the Zoo, so it was good to go out in the suburbs. I really liked it!! On arrival, Pup gave us the most amazing greeting, nearly jumping out the car window at the airport, then proceeded to lick us all the way home!! Yes, she DID remember us alright! Too funny! Lisa took us to Napean Peninsula (hope I've got that right) where you walk over 3 kms & back again taking in all the sights. It was a bit like visiting Stoney Batter, on Waiheke Island. VERY interesting place & the day was just perfect. Being mid week there were only a handful of people there. Apparently the weekends are very busy! The last night there B&L took us to this fabulous restaurant up in the Dandedongs. The view was absolutely breathtaking!! Unfortunately, my photos didn't do it justice. The food was supurb, along with the company!!
Our housesitters enjoyed their time here & it has been good keeping in touch with them. Maybe they will do it for us again one day?
The All Blacks (or some of them) arrived back in Christchurch this morning to a hearty welcome, which was good. After all its only a game. There are too many other important issues than winning the Rugby World Cup. Next time maybe?
The rain is suppose to 'set in' later. Time to make lunch & watch Dr Phil. Toodles!!
